Privacy Policy

How TokCount collects, uses, and shares information.

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how TokCount (“TokCount,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information from visitors to TokCount.com (the “Site”) and the services available through the Site (the “Services”). By using the Site or the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

In short: most of what you see on TokCount is public data, the kind anyone could read from a public YouTube or TikTok profile. We do not store or display private account information unless you ask us to and grant permission. We use a cookieless analytics tool that does not identify you. We run ads to keep the Services free. The sections below set out the details.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

Information you give us directly. If you contact us, request access to a feature, or ask us to verify your identity, we collect what you choose to send, such as your email address and the contents of your message.

Information from third parties. We gather public statistics and account data from third-party platforms, including YouTube and TikTok. This is public information. If you do not want it shown on TokCount, change your privacy settings on the source platform. We do not remove public information from the Site without a legally binding order requiring us to do so.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, our advertising partner may collect technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, the pages you view, the links you click, and the referring URL that brought you here. This collection is described in the Advertising section below. Our own analytics tool does not collect this data in an identifiable form (see the Analytics section).

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the Site, to display the public statistics that make up our Services, to respond to your messages, to serve ads that fund the Services, to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it, and to protect against fraud and abuse.

We also use information to comply with the law and to enforce our Terms of Use and this Policy.

3. Analytics

We use Rybbit, a privacy-first, self-hosted analytics tool, to understand how people use the Site. Rybbit does not use cookies, does not collect personal or identifiable information, and does not track you across other websites. It does not build a profile of you.

We use this data to see which pages are popular and how visitors find us, so we can decide what to build next. We no longer use Google Analytics or any cookie-based analytics product.

4. Advertising and Cookies

We run ads to keep the Services free. Servers and the people who build them cost money, and advertising covers that. Our ads are served through Google AdSense.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

5. How We Share Information

We may share the information we collect with vendors, service providers, and contractors who perform functions on our behalf, such as our advertising partner.

We may share information to comply with the law, a court order, or other legal process, and where we believe it is necessary to investigate or prevent illegal activity, suspected fraud, threats to anyone’s safety, or violations of our Terms of Use or this Policy.

We may share aggregate, non-identifiable information about users with third parties for advertising, research, or similar purposes.

6. Data Sources

To keep statistics current, we use the API services of third parties, including YouTube and TikTok. Unless we ask for specific access at the time of use (for example, to verify your identity), we gather only publicly available data from these services, not anything private about your account.

7. Your Rights Under the GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, and object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section.

You can manage and update your advertising consent at any time by clicking the “Update cookie preferences” button at the bottom of the page.

8. Your Rights Under the CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site includes links to third-party websites. Your use of those sites is governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their information practices.

10. Third-Party Policies

The Site uses products and services from Google through Google AdSense, so Google’s privacy policy applies alongside ours. (Google’s Privacy Policy)

11. Changes to This Policy

We may change this Policy at any time. When we make a material change, we will post a notice on the Site. You are responsible for reviewing changes. If you do not agree with them, stop using the Site and the Services.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Policy or would like to make a request or complaint, email us at [email protected].
